First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Saint Michael's College.
Director
I had several phone interviews, and then visited the campus for panel interviews with different departments. They explained the process clearly, and everyone was friendly. The campus is nice, but things moved slowly. The salary offered was low for the area.
- Could you describe your understanding of equity and inclusion?
Public Safety Officer
I applied online and then after waiting about three weeks, I got a call to set up an interview. The interview itself was with three people from the Public Safety department. They asked some pretty wild questions that seemed more fitting for a police department than a campus safety role. I was told I'd hear back by the end of the week, but ended up getting a generic rejection email about a month later.
- In what situations would you consider using deadly force?
- Are you comfortable with the idea of carrying a firearm?
- Can you describe a time you had to use physical force?
Director
It was pretty intense, a few hours of meetings with current staff, students, directors, and the VP of student affairs.
- What do you consider a personal weakness?
