I filled out some online forms first. Then I was supposed to have a face-to-face interview at the store. But when I got there, the manager didn't even know I was coming or what job I applied for. I told him I was there for the delivery driver position, and he said he didn't even know the store was hiring for that role.

The booking system for the interview didn't work, so I had to email to get a slot booked. When I arrived, they had the wrong time down, which they confirmed. In the interview, I was told I'd find out the results in a few days and that inductions were in a week. Right after the interview, I sent over holiday dates I hadn't mentioned in the interview, but I got no reply. After 3 weeks with no contact, I sent an email asking why I hadn't been told anything and if I could get some feedback, but still no reply in a week. The interviewer was really nice, but this is definitely not a fair way for a big corporation like Sainsburys to treat interviewees.

First off, they check your right to work. You gotta give 'em your passport, national insurance number, and driving licence info. They just wanna make sure you're allowed to do the job. Having a good, clean driving record and a bit of driving experience helps. After those checks, they do a risk assessment. This involves asking stuff about your driving history, like any accidents or insurance claims in the past 5 years, and if you've had any points on your licence or been banned recently.
