First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sago.
Project Coordinator
The interview process was really straightforward. There were about 2-3 interviews and roughly 10 questions in total. They were very thorough and gave me a chance to ask about the role and how things work. I had to complete an assignment, and if I did well on that, I was pretty much guaranteed the job.
- Could you tell me about your educational background and any relevant experience you have in these areas?
Manager
I was contacted for a phone screening quickly after applying. Then I had a 1:1 virtual interview with the hiring manager, followed by a virtual panel interview and training demo with the hiring manager and two others. The recruiter didn't update me on my status until I got a generic rejection email almost two weeks after the last interview. The phone screen was right before the holidays, and then after the new year, the interviews were in consecutive weeks. I thought it was weird that each interview was only 30 minutes, so they basically decided on a manager role after just an hour total with me, and I barely had time to ask questions. I also never found out the salary range, not even before the final round.
- Can you describe how you approach learning new things?
.NET Developer
HR asked me to bring in some sample of my work for in person interview without giving any specific requirement and suggested I get a laptop. So I created 3 applications (WCF Service, Win Service and ASP Web Application) based on the job description. Round 1 I met interviewers (lead and PM). I gave a presentation/Small demo of my sample applications end to end. We went over the technical details and flow chart. Round 2 CTO met me and went over the company's profile and described his role. CTO then asked me some questions on my background and some other general questions. CTO then asked me when can I join and confirmed the annual salary and asked me to wait. Later, PM and Lead met me. The Lead asked me if I had any more applications to present. I informed him that I don't have any other samples right now ,but, I would be always very happy to create one based on the requirement. The Lead mentioned he will get back to me and escorted me out. After a week, HR informed me that they have gone ahead with another candidate. I wish I could have remembered name of Schlesinger Associates for the right reasons and have used my time in a better way! Fortunately, I have another offer.
- Had to present some sample of work.
Market Research Recruiter
They showed me around first and then we sat down and started the conversation with me telling my interviewer a little bit about myself. Then she asked me about my recruiter experience and why I would like to work at Schlesinger and what in their ad on attracted me to the position. Then they asked me about a time I had to complete a challenge and do I prefer to work as a individual or a team. then I was asked what qualities that make me stand out from others and what I could bring to the company.
- What's your expected salary?
