A referral led me to learn about the R&D Manager position at Sage Electrochromics. Initially, I had a phone chat with my soon-to-be manager, and that led to an invitation for an on-site interview. The Sage facility in Faribault is truly something else; the building is gorgeous and really shows off Sage technology, which I found super motivating. My visit was planned out really well. We kicked things off with an hour-long presentation and discussion, and then I had one-on-one meetings for the rest of the day. I got a great vibe from everyone I met, and the questions asked were totally fair and often sparked some really good conversations. Overall, it was a really good experience.

The hiring process went very quickly and efficiently. My initial interview was a phone conversation where I described my strengths and what I could bring to the company. The next follow-up was a corporate visit to meet with some of the key members of the product development and sales team. HR was involved in the entire process and was extremely helpful. An offer was made after determining that it was a mutual fit and accepted. The entire Sage team was extremely responsive and I was assured that I made the right decision.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It was a pretty simple interview process. First, there was a phone interview to see if you were interested in the company and if your skills were a good fit. Then, there was an onsite interview, which included a company tour, a technical presentation from me, and then about 4-5 more interview rounds with the people I'd probably be working with.

The lead interviewer was really nice, upfront about their expectations for an employee, and easy to talk to. They were very professional. All in all, it was a great interview.
