The interview was pleasant and of average difficulty. They first want to know about your behavioral management strategies for students and how you take feedback from a supervisor. If you pass the phone call round, there is a math assessment.

Had a nice chat with the hiring manager about my Haxe background and a time I modified a closed-source Haxe library to fix an issue. They seemed impressed. Then, I had to do a coding test, which felt a bit odd and unrelated to Haxe (had to create an infinite loop showing a cycling bit value). It took me a bit longer than expected to figure it out. A few days later, they let me know they weren't moving forward with my application, which was confusing because I thought I did well on all parts. I'm guessing it might have been about my presentation style rather than my technical skills, even though I believe I demonstrated I could do the job.

I was contacted by a recruiter on Indeed about the NYC Tutor position. After applying, I got an email the next day for a phone interview. Two days later, I had an on-site interview. There, two fellows interviewed me and another fellow observed me tutoring two students. I was given a rubric and materials on solving systems of linear equations. Before the on-site, I had to take a short math quiz to check my basic algebra skills. I received the job offer the day after my on-site interview.

This interview process was a complete waste of time. I do not recommend investing your time in preparing the written assignment they request. Saga Innovations seems to lack the resources to implement or act on any thoughtful ideas you might share. It would be better to save your concepts for a company that values critical thinking. I anticipate a lengthy response from the National Recruitment Manager, indicating they have an excess of free time.
