First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Safe Security.
Threat Analyst
First, there was a resume screening to get into the selection pool. Then, a screening round where the interviewer asked general questions based on my resume. The second round was a bit more in-depth to assess my knowledge related to the role. The third round was with the co-founder/CISO, and the questions were based on my resume, personality, and background.
- Can you answer a question about basic networking, the MITRE Framework, APTs, and OWASP?
- Who do you look up to in life?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Senior Security Analyst
It started with a 30-minute video call screening by HR. After that, I had to do a take-home assessment where I had 3 days to find vulnerabilities in a provided web application and then submit a penetration test report. I feel like this firm might be using the pentest reports for training their own team and selling those services to clients. The HR person seemed really invested during the interview but never got back with any feedback or response. Honestly, just another startup that overpromises but can't deliver, especially regarding hiring budgets for skilled people. They also don't seem to know what to ask experienced candidates.
- HR screening was conducted.
- A 3-day assessment on a web application was required.
Information Security Analyst
First, they shortlisted students based on a survey monkey survey that had questions copied from gate archives. Then there was a ppt for shortlisted students. Then they took a GD from which they shortlisted 101 students. Then there was a technical interview. My first tech round came at around 2:30 am at the night. I had to wait till that time. My interview was not taken by their security analyst guy. The interviewer was not at all interested and it seemed like they had already got the number of students they were looking for. So they were just rejecting us based on 5 mins interviews which had no useful questions. At least 10-15 deserving students got rejected because of this pathetic process. It was a complete waste of my day.
- What language would you use for speed?
- Can you tell me about networking?
- Do you have any questions about my resume?
