Senior Project Manager
A recruiter hit me up on LinkedIn and set up a screening call. Then I had 2 more interviews with hiring managers over the next month. I sent a bunch of follow-up emails but got zero response. Total ghosting, not even a rejection email. It's kinda unprofessional, but seems to be the norm with companies that have bad HR and hiring processes these days.
- Can you give me an overview of your resume?
Project Manager
The whole thing from applying to getting the offer took under two weeks. I applied online and got an email the next day about an interview over Skype. They were really professional during the Skype call, which was mainly to see if my personality fit with their company values. After that, I got a call for an in-person interview with the team I'd be working with and my manager. It took about an hour and a half to talk to all four people. I really liked how fast everything moved, and I already knew after the first Skype call that I wanted to work there.
- Describe your understanding of project management lifecycles and your approach to initiating and managing a project.
- How do you handle managing direct reports, especially when dealing with a challenging individual on the team?
Project Manager
I had a 30-minute Skype interview with the CTO, discussing my motivations for joining and my qualifications. Following this on a Friday, I got an invite the next Monday for a second interview at HQ the following Friday. This second interview was with a panel including the Practice Director, Practice Recruiter, CTO, and Engagement Director, lasting about 1.5 hours. Many questions were circumstantial. After this Friday interview, I got an offer letter by the next Tuesday from HR.
- How would you persuade a client to continue with a project that has significant technical problems?
