It was a comprehensive process, and I felt like we really got to know each other during the phone screen, two interview rounds, and a work sample. Things moved along pretty fast. It was great that both my future direct reports and my future boss were involved in the hiring process and had input on who joins the team.

I was really excited to interview with this brand because of their interesting product and category. However, the interview process was pretty disappointing and didn't seem to respect candidates' time. The creative assignment was one of the longest I've ever done and was barely acknowledged with a pretty harsh "we found other candidates stronger." Maybe it was just me?

The interviewer was really dry and unfriendly. It felt like she decided I wasn't a good fit within the first five minutes, and no amount of enthusiasm about the role or company could change her mind. I'm wondering why she even bothered interviewing me if my experience, which is super relevant to the job and industry, wasn't what she was looking for. The questions were totally generic, like something you'd find on a basic "Sales Interview" Google search. Anyway, I'm glad she never got back to me after I followed up a bunch, because I found a much better opportunity, and it looks like they're still hiring for this position.

For the Marketing role, I had to do a work presentation. The presentation was about other companies' amazon stores, and I had to create a plan for Saalt's amazon store. I presented this to the leaders and then was ghosted. This process was unethical. I know they've asked for work samples before, but I didn't think they'd exploit so many people. They used my intellectual property without paying me or even responding to let me know the job was taken down. I would never work for a company that exploits people.
