First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at S&S Activewear.
Merchandiser
Had a 30-minute chat with the recruiter. We went over my background and skills. They told me about the job and what it involves, and also about the company's setup and recent changes. It was a friendly and professional conversation overall.
- Tell me about your experience.
- How do you feel about working with data?
- Are you good with sales?
Payroll Specialist
The interviews moved really fast, which was nice. I started with a recruiter chat, then met the hiring manager, and after that, their manager. The final interview went well, and the HM's manager even discussed benefits. They said I'd hear back the next day, but apparently, the decision-makers were out of office. It's been over two weeks, and I've followed up twice. The lack of communication after the final round has been pretty rough, especially since I'm looking for a job.
- Tell me about a time you handled a relevant payroll situation.
- Can you share an example of a time you faced a challenging payroll issue?
- Describe a situation where you ensured payroll accuracy.
Account Representative
They really want to get to know you as a person - its less "where do you see yourself in 5 years" and more "tell me about you and what makes you thrive."
- What makes you feel successful at the end of the day?
Product Owner
I interviewed for the Product Owner role at S&S Activewear. The HR person was not prepared to give me info about the interview process and I had to call them twice to get past the prescreening and schedule a call with the hiring manager. I prepared for the interview by matching my answers to the job description using STAR. The interviewer seemed unprepared and didn't know the process. He skipped introducing himself and went straight to questions. I had to ask to introduce myself and share my background before answering his questions, and he didn't seem interested. He also didn't explain the job responsibilities. The interviewer's questions were disorganized and long, trying to cover too much at once. I answered using my experiences and STAR, but he looked impatient. He briefly mentioned what the next rounds would be like, but I got rejected the next day. I'm disappointed because I spent a lot of time preparing, but the interviewer's lack of skill led to this. They didn't even give feedback on why I was rejected. This poor communication makes candidates feel undervalued and erodes trust in the hiring process.
- Could you share an example of a project you're proud of or a time you worked as a Product Owner?
- Describe a situation where you broke down a project into different phases.
- What's your approach to handling stakeholder requirements?
