So this job was with their TBI team. It started with two 30-minute chats with the hiring manager. After that, I had a 6-hour interview with the whole team, which also included a presentation at the end. I didn't get the job because they said I didn't have a "deeper" understanding of power systems, even though that wasn't a requirement. Honestly, it felt like they weren't actually looking to hire anyone, just having conversations.

The interview was conducted over Skype via video call. The interviewer focused on core Java, Hibernate, and multithreading. She persistently asked questions even when I mentioned having only basic knowledge, like asking about many-to-many mapping in Hibernate. When I explained my experience with iBatis, another ORM, and my limited Hibernate knowledge, she asked how it would be done in iBatis. Although I answered, she seemed unsatisfied, appearing to lack understanding of iBatis and expecting it to be similar to Hibernate. I clarified the differences, noting their distinct designs. I realized during the interview that this role wouldn't be a good fit. To top it off, she didn't ask if I had any questions about the position or company, which felt rude.
