Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ryan.
Administrative Assistant
So first, there was a phone call with the recruiter. Then, I went in person to interview with the main manager. After that, I had another in-person interview, this time with three different managers. Then there was a really thorough background and reference check, and it took a few different people to approve the offer.
- Can you tell me about a situation where you couldn't fulfill a client's requirements?
Executive Assistant
The hiring process was really thorough, starting from the first call right up to day one. The recruiter was professional and really sold the company. It began with a quick phone interview, then an in-person meeting. After the initial call, I had to complete a substantial set of competency tests. This part was quick and accurate. An interview was scheduled within days of the phone interview and after I passed the tests. I got an email with exact details on parking, entry, who to ask for, and who I'd meet. In my interview, I met three team members all in one go. They were all professional during the interview. After it was done, I got a call in a few days saying they wanted to offer me the job, pending positive background, credit, and reference checks. It's a really thorough background and reference check process. It shows they really want the best!
- Can you share an example of a challenging situation you faced in a past role and explain how you managed it? Also, reflect on whether you could have done anything differently to achieve a better result.
Administrative Assistant
The interview process was really disappointing. It took way too long. The recruiter wasn't very proactive, and I had to call several times without getting a callback. There were also issues with the hiring process because of nepotism. It was hard to feel excited about starting the job.
- Can you share an instance of a challenging customer situation you faced and explain how you handled it?
