Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ryan.
Director
Had a phone screening with HR, then an interview with the Unit director. It was focused on hard skills, like Microsoft Office, etc, as the job requires using a lot of IT and software.
- Can you explain your previous experience in this field?
Director
I started with an aptitude/attitude test. Then I had interviews with 5 partners at their headquarters. The travel and accommodations were excellent. I did one-on-one interviews with the partners, and they also arranged a dinner with employees. The questioning was very detailed because being a team player and accommodating is crucial given how closely we work in teams.
- Could you explain your most significant contribution to your current employer?
- What are your thoughts on the current SALT issues affecting the industry?
- Can you describe your management style?
Director
Recruiter reached out to see if I was interested. There was a phone screen, then some tests, and finally in-person interviews which were done via video conference. I interviewed with senior folks I'd be working with. Ryan really values fit, so understanding the people you'll work with is crucial in the interview. It's basically a two-way street where you're interviewing them too.
- What were your most relevant projects and experience from previous jobs?
- How can you demonstrate that you are capable of performing the job you're applying for?
