First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Russo Partners.
Account Coordinator
We had a bunch of one on one chats with folks at Russo Partners. We talked about your background and if you know your stuff about scientific communications. The job is gonna be about writing, building relationships, and using your science knowledge.
- Can you tell us about your background and experience?
Account Executive
The interview process was thorough but very pleasant. It consisted of a phone interview followed by two in-office interviews. My point of contact throughout the process was Scott Santiamo, the SVP, who is absolutely world class. After emailing a cover letter and resume to Scott, we set up a 30 minute phone interview. A few days later, I was invited to the office for a round of interviews with some members of the team. After a week, I was invited back to do a writing test that represents the type of work I would have been performing, followed directly by a round of interviews with the senior management. All in all, everyone I spoke to was very friendly and professional, and I felt a generally positive vibe in the office.
- Why are you leaving academia and what skills will help you succeed outside of academia?
Public Relations Counselor
I had a good experience with Scott, who was very efficient, friendly and communicative. The process involved a phone interview and then an office visit with more interviews. One of the partners even met me closer to my home to make things easier. There was also a writing test, which was fair. Everyone was nice and the job looked interesting, but I declined due to timing and personal reasons. They were very open to answering questions and making sure I understood the role. I appreciated their openness to diverse backgrounds, which contributes to the office's diversity.
- What makes you interested in Public Relations?
Intern
The interview process was prompt with interview response and scheduling, but it left me with the impression I had gotten the job. However, they never reached out again. When I inquired, they responded quickly to let me know I didn't get the job.
- What made you interested in a career in media or relations?
