First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rushmore Loan Management.
Customer Service Representative
First, I had a screening call with a recruiter. If the hiring managers liked me, she would set up another phone interview with a hiring manager. About a week later, I got an email to schedule this second phone interview. During the second phone interview, they said I'd know in a couple of days if I'd move on to the next step, which was a face-to-face interview with two hiring managers. I later received an email to proceed with the face-to-face interview and was then told that if I passed, the final step would be a meeting with the Senior Vice President. A few days after that, I got the job offer.
- What's something about you that isn't obvious from your resume?
Asset Manager
I was first contacted by an HR person from Irvine, CA about an interview in Dallas, TX. The HR person was nice and did a quick screen to check if my salary expectations aligned with the offer. The interview process was pretty standard: 2 senior managers interviewed me in a conference room for about an hour. It was a relaxed chat about the experience needed for the job and specific details about the role, like whether it involved remote work (no), travel (hardly ever), or training brokers/inspections (no). They said I'd hear back within 3 weeks. I didn't get a response, so I followed up with HR three times before they finally said no. I tried to get feedback and find out about other roles, but most of the HR department went silent. Eventually, I had to contact multiple people in HR to get any response, and only one was helpful. Even though the interview itself was okay, the whole after-interview experience with Rushmore was really frustrating and left me with a bad impression of the company.
- How would your past job responsibilities apply to this role?
- Will this job involve remote work?
- Will I have to travel for this job?
Bankruptcy Specialist
The recruiter set up the interview. I had to fill out a paper application before the interview. Then I met with an attorney and the hiring manager. After that, I tried to reach out to the recruiter by email and phone multiple times over a month, but got no response. They seem really disorganized or they don't tell people when they're rejected. A coworker had the same experience. This isn't the right company for me!
- Can you give examples of your experience with bankruptcy scenarios?
- What motivated you to apply for this position?
- What is your reason for leaving your present job?
Intern
I interviewed at the office in Dallas, TX. It took a few hours and I interviewed with a few different panels of people. The interview questions were straightforward about strengths and weaknesses, and past experiences. Overall the process wasn't particularly difficult or long and drawn out.
- Can you share what you consider your strengths and weaknesses to be?
- What can you tell me about your past experiences?
