My interview process with the Runway team was really smooth and they were super supportive as I figured out where I wanted my next role to be. The team was really clear upfront and throughout the whole process about what I'd be interviewed on, giving me info on who I'd meet and the expected timelines. They were also really flexible with my schedule. The interview process was quite thorough, involving meetings with several team members from different departments, which I really liked because it was a great way to meet the various people I'd be working with across the team. Can't wait to join this super ambitious, smart, and friendly team!

I talked to the recruiter on the phone after they saw my resume and were happy to connect on LinkedIn. They didn't introduce themselves but immediately asked what I wanted to know about Runway. I asked about how ML engineers work with technical staff and about the current LLM, other models they've used, and how engineers built it. The recruiter seemed offended, maybe they were having a bad day. Then they sent a rejection saying they wanted someone with more related experience. The call was only 30 minutes. I was confused if it was something I said, maybe I shouldn't have asked detailed questions about their model.

The whole process was incredibly efficient - despite there being several stages, from first interview to offer took less than two weeks. Lauren and Ingrid were super communicative and kept me in the loop at every stage, despite this taking place over the Christmas holiday. Please don't be put off by the number of stages involved, interviewing at Runway is not a drawn out process, and I came away from the experience feeling like I could make an informed decision as to whether I'd enjoy working there. The interview process involved 5 stages: 1. Initial call with a Recruiter 2. Live coding session 3. System design session 4. Virtual on-site (4 "mini" interviews with different members of the team) 5. Call with senior leadership team
