I applied and had an initial chat with the recruiter. Afterwards, I was told the recruiter contacted the hiring team and I wasn't considered a good fit. I think it's a bit disrespectful to waste a candidate's time by not checking with the hiring team about the CV first before calling the candidate. The recruiter's screening didn't really add much value since I just repeated my CV. It felt like the recruiter was just trying to seem important and make decisions they couldn't actually make.

The interview process was pretty straight-forward for me. There is one coding challenge (leetcode easy-medium), and then I went straight to talking with the CTO. At that point I wanted to talk with more people inside the company, so I actually requested an extra round talking with someone that spent more than four years with the company. I learned quite a lot from that talk, and then got more impressed by the talk with the CEO later. So decided to accept the offer.

I had a great interview experience. From start to finish, the process was smooth, well-organized, and highly professional. The recruitment team was on top of things. They kept me in the loop with clear and timely updates, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. I was approached by a recruiter on LinkedIn, she was super nice and well-organized and explained the whole process in detail. The team was super flexible with my timeline which I really appreciated. We started with a video call for the coding interview, focusing on a code sample review about some of my open-source work, followed by a sync with the recruiter with updates and feedback. Then I had 6 virtual onsite meetings where I had the opportunity to meet with the CEO, CTO, Head of People, and Head of Engineering and another deep-dive ML interview where I talked about a couple of machine learning projects that I have worked on and chat with researchers on the team. Everyone I spoke with was so warm and welcoming. We had some great conversations, and I could tell they genuinely love what they do. Overall, I had a wonderful experience interviewing at Runway and I am super excited to join the team in their journey!
