First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RTE - Le Réseau de Transport d'Electricité.
Dispatcher
The process is very long. They recruit for this position every 6 months. It is possible to apply to one of the three centers in France. There are several interviews including cognitive tests because it is a sensitive position with high responsibility.
- What are the overall objectives of the company?
- Talk about your strengths and weaknesses.
- You need to already know the job quite well.
Assistant Manager
I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the recruitment process at RTE. The recruiter, the HR person, the director, and the site manager were all accessible, clear, kind, and encouraging. Every conversation took place in a climate of trust, with a real sense of listening and respect. This reflects a great company culture, focused on people and professionalism. A really positive experience that makes you want to join RTE.
- How would your former colleagues describe you as a collaborator?
Maintenance Technician
The process was professional and technical, with cordial exchanges and very precise information. We discussed the company's equipment, maintenance policy, and the tasks and missions involved. It was a good time for discussion, with some information and questions about long-term prospects. The qualified and curious managers were keen to get to know me better.
- Questions about professional activity and job expectations.
- Presentation of the field of activity.
Dispatcher
The first step was a 15-minute video recording with classic motivation questions. Then, there was a 1-hour Teams interview with a group HR representative, covering motivation and company knowledge. This was followed by a 1-hour PEPCO test phase, involving audio-visual, speed, thinking, and stress management tests, supervised via webcam by the Sénanque firm. Next, an in-person meeting with a jury of managers and the HR representative took place, lasting 2 hours, focusing on my background, career choices, and interest in the job. The final stage involved 3.5 hours of psychotechnical tests (like the Cubiks test, some quite difficult) and an interview with the HR firm, including a debrief and behavioral questions. They gave a negative response after 8 hours of interviews with a flimsy justification. Expect about a week between each stage.
- In case of a handling error, like pressing the wrong button, what would your course of action be?
- Could you state the number of employees at RTE?
- How would you describe RTE to a person who doesn't know it?
