& Process

The interview process involved questions about my experience, a test of my medical knowledge regarding medications and their uses, a typing test for speed and accuracy, and reading from a script to assess my speaking voice. I also did a mock telephone interview. It was easy and low-pressure. Judith interviewed me, and it was hard to gauge her reaction or how the interview was progressing.

I applied online for the Medical Case Manager role at RSA medical and got a recruiter call the next day. She scheduled a 40-minute phone interview for the next day. She started by giving an overview of the company, its work, and the role. Then, she asked about how I found out about them, my medical career path, my residency aspirations, details about my past jobs on my resume, and how I managed challenging situations. The day after, she called again to set up an interview with the hiring manager. He also questioned me extensively about my medical journey and my reasons for pursuing medicine. He inquired about my ongoing Step 3 preparations and if it would impede my work, to which I responded negatively. He also asked about my willingness to relocate to Naperville, and I confirmed that I was. He concluded by saying they would inform me of their decision. Three days later, I received an email stating I was not selected.

I got contacted by an HR person for a phone screen. After that, I had a one-on-one interview at the office with HR and the hiring manager. They liked me and asked me to wait to talk to the head of the company. This talk lasted over an hour, and I was moved to different rooms twice because the first room was booked. Then, I was taken to a conference room for a group interview with the head of the company and two other people. The first two interviews had good questions, but the panel interview was disorganized. I wouldn't have taken the job because it was unprofessional and I was mostly waiting for 2.5 hours. No one from the company contacted me afterwards.

Got found on a job site and HR called me right back, like within an hour. We set up a phone interview for that same day and then a face-to-face for two days later. They gave me an offer the day of the face-to-face, and even had a counter ready when I said I needed to check with my wife. It included a bonus after 90 days (which they changed to 30) that's pretty easy to get.
