First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RRM Design Group.
Executive Assistant
The interview process is lengthy and will be time consuming. However, everyone I spoke to was lovely, and the company seems like a great place to work. I believe I did a phone interview, virtual interview, then they required 5 references to fill out a survey and reference summary about you, and they mentioned various skill tests at the stage I was at. They explained after that it could be 1-2 more interviews with upper management I assume.
- Could you tell me a bit about yourself?
Landscape Designer
The interview process was quite lengthy, spanning a couple of weeks between hearing back after each interview. I had an initial phone interview, followed by a Zoom interview with the team, though their cameras were off during that session.
- Can you tell me about the projects you were involved in during your internship?
Office Manager
The process was efficient and informative. They didn't have any unnecessary protocols and moved quickly with direct communication. I interviewed with management from different office locations, which helped me get a better understanding of the company overall.
- What are your strategies for managing conflict between different offices?
Structural Engineer
Applied online and was asked to do an in-person interview. The panel included HR, the Head of Structural Engineering, and a Principal. They asked questions that seemed useless. The HR person wouldn't let me talk about my current engineering experience relevant to the job unless it was with a company name, not self-employment. It felt like they were pushing for a specific candidate and trying to get the lowest salary possible. They couldn't even describe the work they had, making me question if it even exists. The firm is very stingy, not covering gas or food expenses for my 3+ hour trip each way. They also couldn't describe the position or the timeline to fill it, despite saying the previous person left immediately. It seems they are just mistreating job seekers. I can only imagine what working there would be like - probably bad.
- Can you discuss your work experience from 10 years ago, excluding any self-employment experience?
