Operations Manager
I applied for the Sr. Operations Manager role and heard back from a recruiter the very next day to set up a phone interview. During our initial contact, I noticed some minor unprofessionalism as my name was repeatedly misspelled. We scheduled a time to chat, but the recruiter missed our scheduled call. About 15 minutes after it was supposed to happen, I reached out via email, and she explained she'd forgotten to add it to her calendar. We eventually had a good conversation, and she said she'd be in touch. A couple of weeks later, I received a text message from her indicating I wouldn't be proceeding, and again, she used the wrong name. She confirmed she meant to text me, but still misspelled my name. While I generally enjoyed speaking with the recruiter, the disorganization and repeated errors were noticeable.
- Can you share an instance where you had a disagreement with a colleague and explain how you resolved it?
Operations Manager
The recruiting team at Rover was great. They communicated really well, were clear about what to expect, and responded fast after interviews. I had one phone screen with the hiring manager, then an in-person interview with a Senior Manager, followed by a 4-hour loop. The interviews were intense and I didn't get a good vibe from the team or the hiring manager. I also didn't get more than a minute or two break during the 4-hour interview. If I were offered the job, I would have turned it down because of how I was treated.
- Were there behavioral questions, all tying back to values?
- Were there case studies, all tying back to values?
Operations Manager
I met with a few different people offsite for a casual discussion about the role and my background and experience. It was more of a conversation than aggressive questioning. We talked about current company challenges and growth opportunities, and then I discussed how my background related to these.
- What motivates your interest in this position?
- Can you share an instance where an initiative you undertook did not yield the expected results?
