First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rouses Markets.
Sales Associate
The interview was quick and straightforward. I had a pleasant experience with the people and the environment. They asked basic sales associate questions and the process was speedy. The entire interview process took about a week, and I got notified about the position within two weeks. The schedule is flexible and the coworkers are respectful.
- Can you tell me about your previous sales associate experience?
Cashier
It was a super invasive interview process. I found out one of the managers was trying to be inappropriate with coworkers and interviewees. They demanded more physical labor and extended standing time than what was advertised.
- Would you choose to hang out with coworkers outside of work?
Seafood Associate
It was at a job fair, so a super hectic environment. You fill out the basic stuff on your application, then you sit down with a store manager. They ask you questions to see how you'd do with customer service, which is a really big deal in the grocery business and at Rouse'. *BIG TIP* definitely make sure you smile at everyone you meet, seriously, they actually look for that.
- What are your thoughts on customer service, keeping in mind that 'The answer is YES' is our motto?
Produce Associate
I was contacted for an interview for this role early in the day and interviewed the same day. Based on my 10 years of experience in the industry, I was offered the job later that day. It was a quick, informal process. They didn't explain much beyond the basics, which might be because of my experience. The manager was really busy, and they hired me because they needed someone urgently. It seemed like a lot of people from my old company were moving to Rouses. The process was straightforward: this is what you'll do, this is where you'll go, and this is what I can offer. That was it.
- Did you know some of my colleagues from your previous job?
- What can I offer you?
