So, for this role, there are two parts to the interview. First, you'll get a take-home challenge. Then, for the second part, you'll meet with some of the team members and do a few coding challenges, which will include HTML and CSS.

I applied online for an internship and heard back pretty quickly for a phone chat with one of the creatives, which was cool because I spoke directly with someone I'd be working with. A few days later, I came in for an in-person interview. I met with three creatives first, and they were all super welcoming. Then, I was supposed to chat with the boss/owner. The boss came in and, after a bit of an awkward gender mix-up, he seemed irritated. He asked me 'so what's your deal?' and then looked at my portfolio, saying 'I don't get it?' when I showed him a branding identity project, specifically asking if I just 'made a tote bag?' He then got up and left. I wasn't sure if he'd come back, so I waited until one of the earlier interviewers told me I could leave. About a week and a half later, I got an offer email! I was surprised after the weird interview, but figured my connection with the first three interviewers must have gone well. I had a call to go over hours and pay, and was set to start. But then, a few hours later, I got another email saying they had a meeting and had to retract the offer, which was pretty upsetting. I thanked them and asked them to keep my resume on file.

The interview process is pretty easy, honestly. It starts with a quick non-technical phone call where they ask standard questions like 'Tell me about yourself' and what tech you know. Then you get a design mockup to code as a take-home challenge, with some room for your own ideas. The onsite has three parts: a deep dive into HTML/CSS, a review of your take-home work, and a simple JS problem. Finally, you chat with the CEO about behavioral stuff. Everyone's nice, but based on what I saw and reviews, the work environment isn't for everyone, and there's a high turnover, though it might be okay for a first dev job.

I had a quick phone call, then a design test, followed by an in-person interview. The office setup was unusual, with everyone working at a large shared table in a room, almost like a converted apartment rather than a traditional office. After the interview, I sent two follow-up emails about the status but received no response. This lack of communication from a company, especially after completing a test and interview, suggests they might not be considerate of their employees. I regret not checking other negative reviews beforehand.
