Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rooms To Go.
Sales Professional
The interview process was very organized and to the point. It was clear, open, and honest. There were two interviews: the first was with the store manager, and the second was with the regional manager. After getting an offer, there's a drug screening and background check, and if all goes well, you start within two weeks, followed by two weeks of training.
- What makes you a good fit for this role?
Sales Representative
I went in person and filled out an application. Then I spoke to the manager who interviewed me. It was pretty relaxed. The first interview requires you to sell yourself, but be honest because they only hire great people who want to be coached. Dress professionally and just relax when answering questions. Don't overshare what they didn't ask.
- Why did you decide to apply for a position at Rooms to Go?
- What qualities do you think are essential for a successful salesperson?
Sales Representative
I met with the General Manager first, and then had a second meeting with a Sales Manager. The time between the interview and the preliminary offer was fine. It only took a few days between the two meetings, and then they set up a time for me to take the drug test, which I did on July 5th. I'm still waiting, and when I followed up, I was told it's up to HR to finish. It seems strange that they like me but there's a hold-up. I respect that there are checks and balances, and since it's summer, people in charge may be on vacation, that's what I'm chalking it up to. However, if you're single, on your own, and don't have at least a two-month savings for all your bills to get paid during the wait, don't apply unemployed because the wait is mind-numbing. As of today, I am still waiting on final approval.
- Can you tell me about one of your greatest strengths?
