The interview process was long and cumbersome. It started with an initial phone screen with the HR recruiter, followed by a second and third interview with managers or directors. It felt very corporate and stuffy, lacking personality. I wasn't very interested, sensing it's a place where one could burn out quickly.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Got an email from a recruiter and replied. The store manager called me that day and interviewed me the next day. It was a casual chat about how to boost key metrics for a sales team that works on commission. I was told I'd interview with the regional manager in a few days. That was also informal and enjoyable; they seemed like nice, passionate people, and knowing about the company culture made me more interested. I'd heard they might steer me towards sales instead of management, but I made it clear early on that I wasn't interested in that. The following week, I interviewed with a VP. I liked the interview, but felt something was holding him back. Maybe salary expectations or my refusal to consider sales, but I had a feeling I wouldn't get the job. I didn't, which is fine, these things happen. What soured the experience was the VP not committing to a callback or a deadline. I expected a call with a decision, maybe even feedback, especially after reaching the VP stage. It just didn't sit right. It might be understandable for a first interview, but not for a VP shortlist. Other than that, the company seems to genuinely care about its staff and creating a good work environment, which was appealing. The people were decent and easy to talk to. The negative part wasn't too bad, just a feeling that it could have been handled a bit better.

I applied online and got contacted within a week to set up an interview with the Store Manager. The interview was pretty standard. He looked at my resume and asked questions about it, like explaining past jobs and how my experience fit this role. It took about 30 minutes.
