Barista
It's pretty straightforward. They'll ask about your customer service experience and how you'd handle various customer situations. They're basically trying to get a feel for your personality and customer service abilities. You'll have a virtual call, and there will be two calls in total. They usually give you an update within about a week.
- What would you do if a customer's order wasn't right?
- Tell me about your customer service experience.
- How would you handle various customer scenarios?
Assistant Manager
Andrea made me feel really welcome and her positive energy was contagious! I was offered coffee and asked about my past work and personal interests. She answered my questions and I didn't feel uncertain about what's next. I was told there would be more interviews and that I'd be contacted soon. Rook is an amazing company with great values and work ethic, and it was a pleasure to interview with one of their best!
- Tell me about a positive aspect of your previous job.
- Tell me about a negative aspect of your previous job.
Full Charge Bookkeeper
I applied for the job through Craigslist and heard back via email in about two days. We set up a phone interview, and then about a week after that, I was invited for a one-on-one meeting.
- Saying this interview process was an utter waste of time would be an understatement. The co-owner was mostly concerned about my lifestyle and asked questions about my hobbies, interests, and my life experiences, instead of my skill set.
- He said he was not concerned about my qualifications and said I was more than qualified with my past work experience and education.
- I have the impression the co-owner had ulterior motives in interviewing me and other candidates.
Barista
It was really easy to talk to them, and the environment felt super comfortable. It was just a one-on-one interview. They even offered me a coffee to help me relax. They made it feel more like a chat than a formal interview.
- Have you got any past experience in food and beverage?
- What is it that interests you?
- Can you tell me about a time you exceeded expectations for a customer?
