Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Roku.
Software QA Engineer
The interview process was quite straightforward, consisting of three rounds. I spoke with the QA manager and some engineers. They mostly asked about my past work history and how I would approach writing test cases for specific scenarios, like issues with USB files.
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
- How would you write test cases for USB file issues?
SQA Engineer
I had a phone interview with the hiring manager, which was my only interaction. The interviewer seemed pretty new to phone screenings. The questions were kind of vague, and although the interviewer wanted specific answers, they struggled to get more detailed about the questions they were asking.
- Describe your approach to testing a new product.
QA Engineer
I applied online and it took about two months for Roku to get back to me. But after the initial contact, things moved quickly. I had a phone screen with the recruiter one day and then another with an engineer the very next day. Just a couple of days after that first call, I went to the Roku office for an onsite interview that lasted around three hours. I met with the QA Team Leader, other QA team members, and a Senior Software Engineer.
- Tell us about your skills and experience.
- Describe how you would approach testing different products and features.
- Complete this IQ test.
