The interview process was pretty straightforward. It took about a month and a half from start to finish. First, there was a Recruiter Screen, then a Hiring Manager Discussion, followed by an interview loop with three leaders: two from the team I was applying for and one from a different team. I really liked all the people I spoke with, except for the last leader from the other team. About an hour before our meeting, the recruiter asked to reschedule. I agreed, and we set a new time. But less than five minutes later, the recruiter messaged again saying, 'Never mind, let's stick to the original time.' It turned out this leader had just returned from an international trip the night before and had only slept for five hours. From the start, she was grumpy and rude, and mentioned she only had 30 minutes even though we had 45 scheduled. She sarcastically began by asking about my 'vErY iMpReSsIvE rEsUmE...'. I was taken aback but managed to move past it and explained my background. After that, she didn't seem to listen to my answers, got distracted, mixed up topics, and then challenged my responses, saying they didn't make sense. I tried to clarify that her points were from earlier discussions, but she persisted in being impolite and dismissing what I said. Coming from an M&A consulting background, she made a point to boast about her past experience managing M&A at Roku, even though she was now in content PROGRAM MANAGEMENT. I found this hard to believe but went along with it. She lacked any background in banking, PE, consulting, or Corp Dev, yet questioned my experience and acted like she knew more about post-deal integrations than I did. I didn't argue, just couldn't believe how unprofessional and petty she was. Definitely 'confidently incorrect.' She was awful, and I'm glad I won't have to deal with her again. I really enjoyed the hiring manager and the rest of the team, though!

Applied and got a quick first phone screen with the recruiter. Then, had a follow-up phone screen with the hiring manager the next week. About a week after that, I was invited for an in-person interview and to complete a case study. The case study was tough but a good exercise. During the in-person interview, I met with 4 people who were all nice and engaging. The hiring manager gave me a general timeline and said they'd be in touch after reviewing the case studies and identifying finalists. Unfortunately, I never heard back, even after several follow-ups. I later found out the recruiter left, and the hiring manager never closed the loop. While I assumed I wasn't selected after no response, I would have appreciated some notification, especially after meeting the team and submitting a case study. The company seems cool, but the lack of closure made this a negative experience.

There were three rounds for the interview. The first round was with HR, the second was with the hiring manager, and the third was a panel of three to four people I would be working with from different departments. The whole process usually takes about 2-4 weeks, depending on how quickly HR and the hiring manager move.
