Behavioral Technical Coding

Started with an initial screening call with the Design recruiter over Zoom to chat about my background and experience. Then, I had an in-person Design Challenge at their New York office that involved a whiteboard challenge. The final round was a call with a developer to discuss how we'd collaborate.

Behavioral Technical Coding Presentation

First, there was a 15-min recruiter screen to chat about my background. Then, an online assessment with IQ-style questions on logic, math, and patterns - you had to answer as many as you could in the time given (honestly, a weird and outdated practice). After that, a portfolio review with a designer, which felt a bit odd to have before meeting the hiring manager. The onsite part 1 involved a 45-min live design exercise and a 30-min 1-1 with the hiring manager at the NYC office; the exercise wasn't really related to Rokt. For onsite part 2, I had a 45-min chat with the head of product, which I could do in person or via Google Meet (they don't use Zoom). It was a bit unclear why this wasn't part of the first onsite. We talked about my experience, career goals, my ideas on ecommerce's future, and "why Rokt". Lastly, there was a "Bar raiser" interview with an executive from another department, similar to Amazon's concept. They focused on Rokt's values, emphasizing that they look for "high achievers" who "can get through adversity", and wanted to see examples of that in my answers. Finally, an offer call.

Technical Behavioral Presentation

I went through 0 rounds of IQ tests, then 1 round with HR, followed by 2 rounds with designers. Then I had interviews with the director of engineering, who has a design background, and then the chief technology officer. After that, there was a 4.5 round, which was a catch-up call that lasted 3 minutes. The final round was with a bar raiser. After all these interviews, I didn't get the offer or any feedback.
