Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rokt.
Senior Frontend Engineer
I applied online and then had a call with a recruiter to talk about the job and my background. After that, I was given an online coding test with someone from the team. It was pretty unprofessional because the interviewer kept yawning and didn't seem to be paying attention when I asked for clarification, saying "Sorry I wasn't paying attention, can you repeat that" multiple times. I managed to get a working solution with tests for the coding part, but they ended up going with other candidates. They didn't give a real reason, just a standard response. It felt like a waste of my time.
- Could you build a text editor class that includes functions for adding text, reverting changes, reapplying reverted changes, recording the current text, creating a saved state of the text, and restoring the text to a past state?
Frontend Engineer
The interview process started with a video screening where the interviewer was late and didn't apologize. They also yawned a lot during the interview, which felt unprofessional. I was then invited to a technical round, but I had to chase them for information. After a few days, there was a weird 30-minute chat with a random team member about life at Rokt, which wasn't mentioned initially. To top it off, my technical interview was canceled an hour beforehand with no real explanation. Honestly, I'd advise staying away.
- Can you tell me about your past experience?
- Do you have any questions regarding the company?
Front End Engineer
It was a pretty long interview process. Started with a cognitive pre-assessment, then a 30 minute meeting with the hiring manager. After that, a takehome assignment that needs at least one full day to finish. Then, a power day which included a one hour algorithms session, a one hour front end system design session, and finally a 45 minute behavioral interview with the CTO. It's a lot to go through, but the compensation is very competitive and everyone I met was really down to earth.
- How would you design the front end for a marketing campaign dashboard?
