Welder
I started off by waiting over 20 mins for someone to get me for the weld test, which wasn't a great first impression. Once they got me and started walking through, I noticed it was a production shop, meaning it was production welding, which I'm not a fan of and wasn't mentioned in the job post or phone interview.
- How many years of welding experience do you have?
- Are you experienced with the dual shield welding process?
Director of Talent
I got a text from a recruiter about 3 months after applying, which was a bit of a red flag, but I was really into the job. The text was brief, and the recruiter wasn't very friendly or helpful, not even telling me who I'd talk to. The calendar invite had zero info, and I never heard from the recruiter again. I had a good chat with a senior leader, though. He discussed Rogue's growth pains, especially with talent management, and seemed annoyed about the candidate process. He said he wanted me to move forward and I'd hear back soon. After 4 weeks of silence, I texted the recruiter for an update. Six days later, I got a message saying they were waiting on the hiring manager and he'd contact me. It's been over a month since then and still nothing. It's a really bad candidate experience, and honestly, it makes sense they're having internal talent issues if this is what people go through before even getting an offer.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- Tell me about a time when you had to...
- Tell me about building new talent processes.
Quality Manager
I had a phone interview with the HR Recruiter. it was about an hour. It was very thorough. I felt like I did an excellent job of answering questions well. I seemed to fulfill all the job requirements. After the interview, I was told I would be hearing back form her within the week. After two weeks, I reached out to follow-up but got no response by phone or email. After two additional weeks, I reached out to see if there was an information that she could provide to help me improve in my job search. I did not get a response of any kind this time either.
- Can you describe a high-stress situation you encountered and how you handled it?
Supply Chain Director
First, there was a phone screen with HR. Then, I had an on-site interview with the hiring manager. After that, there were more on-site interviews with several people, including two who would report to me. This panel interview was essentially an elimination process. If I did well with the first two interviewers, I'd move to the next, and if that went well, to the one after that. Finally, if all those went well, I'd get to speak with the owner.
- How would you cope with working in a situation that is not very structured?
