It was all phone calls back then, you know, before video calls were a thing. I talked to HR first, then the manager for the area I'd be working in. The President was the last person I spoke with to make sure I was a good fit.

Had a phone screen with HR, then went in for an in-person with my direct boss, HR, and the VP. The last step was an in-person with the CEO. They let me know their decision a day or two after the final interview. It was a pretty straightforward process. The only tricky part was the interview with the previous CEO -- he's got a great poker face and didn't make much eye contact or shake hands, so it was tough to gauge how I was doing.

Sent my resume and then got a call about two weeks later. Went in for an interview, it was pretty weird. They barely asked about my sales experience. The CEO was super unfriendly and intimidating. The owner insulted me directly, but I let it go 'cause I really needed the job. Got hired right then and there, which was awesome at the time, but I quit about a month later.

Behavioral

The initial interaction was with a junior HR person who seemed to be making snap judgments without understanding the role. I was even reprimanded for inquiring about the company's growth strategy, apparently because 'growth' is not spelled 'Rogue.' This person was unfocused and kept contradicting themselves, which I suspect would deter high-caliber candidates. It felt like a complete waste of time and suggested a potentially toxic company culture.
