I had a chill, insightful, and well-handled conversation with the Senior Designer. Following that, I was given a set of assignments to progress to the next stage. Unfortunately, my deliverables didn’t stand out as much as those of my competitors, as I was informed, and I didn’t move forward in the process.

I applied on their website and got an interview invite the same day. I spoke with someone who would be my peer, and we talked about the job, why they were hiring for the role, and what we both expected. It felt like a really good chat. Then, I got a task to create a launch plan for a new feature. I presented this plan online to a couple of other potential teammates and the department head. The next day, I got an offer. I accepted, but then the company restructured, and the offer was put on hold.

I applied to Rodeo and went through several rounds of interviews, which included an assignment. I invested a lot of time into the application process, but all I got was a generic rejection email without any feedback on why I wasn't chosen. It was even more disappointing that, despite my email asking for feedback to help me improve, I never got a response. I think maintaining a good employer brand and a respectful applicant experience means communicating openly and providing constructive feedback to candidates, even when they aren't selected. Unfortunately, Rodeo didn't do that. Think about their communication style before you put in a lot of effort.

Had an intro call with a recruiter where we talked about my background and why I'm interested in this startup. They set up a second interview for the next day, but then kept pushing the time back multiple times without letting me know ahead of time, which was pretty unprofessional. So, I decided to move on with other job applications and turned down their next meeting.
