First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design.
Instructional Designer
Started with an HR screening call, then a group interview with various staff and/or faculty, and a final interview with upper management. The vibe was pretty friendly, and the employees seemed engaged. They kept to the schedule and communicated well throughout.
- Can you tell me about the design strategies you use?
HR
The whole thing was pretty fast. First I talked to the recruiter, then I had a panel interview. After that, they just ghosted me, didn't even reply to my thank you and follow up emails. It's wild how some places treat candidates, like no one's too busy to be respectful.
- Can you explain your interest in working for RMCAD?
Executive Assistant
First a phone screen and about a month later an interview over zoom. Went well and was very easy but the original job description did not have anything about hr duties in it. Was thrown off In the second interview to be chatting with the hr manager, hear about new requirements and adjust. We got along well and then close to three weeks later the lady the interviewed calls me on my way from from my then 9-5, asking me if I can interview with the ceo tomorrow. I hate my currently job so I accept and make the time. She basically assured me I had the job. Interview with ceo we talk for an hour and not ten mins later I get an automated email telling me I had not been selected. I’m fine with not getting the role but months long process for an automated email sucked.
- For what reason do you want to be employed at a college?
Chaperone
I applied for the position through a form on the college's website. About three weeks later, I was contacted and asked for my availability for an interview. A written question form was given to me to complete before arriving at the interview. The questions were basic 'What would you do if...' questions that all related to keeping student morale and safety up. A few questions about why I was interested in the position were asked, and then I was done.
- How would you handle a student who is experiencing homesickness and is being excluded by their peers?
- What makes you want to take on this role?
