After I applied, the recruiter reached out via email about 3 weeks later. We then scheduled a phone interview. Following that, the hiring manager set up a meeting in my city for a panel interview with two people. It felt pretty laid-back and professional.

It was confusing at first, like I was being passed around to eight different people, each with their own interview style. I wasn't sure who was making the hiring decision or what was even happening. But after I got the job, it made sense and was actually a pretty smart process.

So, for the interview, I got brought into an empty office. It was just me, two managers, and an electrical engineer at a table. Not many actual technical questions came up, mostly questions about my education, how much experience I have, and why I want the job. A lot of the questions felt more suited for a management role, focusing on social interaction and diversity. Oh, and you have to pass a written electronics skills test before the interview.
