Applied through a job portal and also got a reference. First, I spoke with a Recruiter. She was impressed with my project and work history. Then, she set up a Skype call with the hiring manager for a technical interview. The interviewer started by asking about my projects and then moved on to a technical assessment. This involved three tests: first, 15 MCQs on C and OOP basics (pointers, classes, objects, constructors) to be done in 5 minutes. Second, I had to spot errors in a code snippet. Third, I was given a problem statement and had to write code for it within 10 minutes, which was algorithm-based. It was challenging, but a good experience overall.

I applied in September, but due to the manager's carefulness, I didn't hear back until November as they reviewed initial applications. After a positive phone interview with the manager and a senior engineer, I was invited for an onsite. This involved interviews with two managers, two senior engineers, and an HR manager. While software questions were manageable, control and hardware questions were more challenging. The interviewers were helpful, assessing knowledge and experience, and I was honest about my limitations. After another month's wait, I had to present some of my work. Two weeks later, they expressed interest in my background but felt I lacked the required seniority for the original role, which I understood. They then offered me an intermediate-level position, which I accepted due to the competitive pay and a good relocation package.

The interview process was pretty straightforward. A senior engineer reached out for a 30-minute technical phone screen. After that, I was invited to their campus in Mayfield Heights for an on-site interview. The on-site day included three 30-minute 1:1 interviews with engineers, a facility tour, and lunch. Everyone was really nice and respectful, and I didn't feel too stressed. All the interviews were basically the same: they asked about my resume, some technical stuff, and a whiteboard problem. No tricky questions, and no behavioral ones. They made an offer a week later.
