I applied in July and had my phone screen a couple of weeks later. Then I had a video meeting with a manager, which was a wonderful conversation. I was then asked to work on a project and was given a week to return it to them. I worked hard to get it done with software I didn’t own and sent it in. After I sent the project, I didn’t hear anything, so I reached out a little over a week later and got the feedback that the manager enjoyed what I did and wanted to move me to the next stage, a panel interview that included a teach back. I hear back a day later, and the panel isn’t for two weeks. I spent the week before the panel preparing the teach-back. Yet more time invested. The panel interview went fine. There were five people in total. I presented the teach-back, we discussed my previous project, and they asked questions about my experience. I left feeling good overall. In the end, I was advised I would hear back from the recruiter after the panel discussed things further. I emailed the recruiter on the third business day after not getting feedback. Later that day, I received an offer from another employer and emailed them that I wanted to be a part of Rockefeller Philanthropy Associates. I received communication from the recruiter in the evening. They said, “sorry I wasn’t here, but I spoke to the hiring manager, and they decided to move forward with other people because they don’t feel you have enough experience with X and Z.”

I had a 30-minute initial phone interview where I discussed my background with the recruiter. Then, I was set up for a Zoom panel interview with senior accountants and other members of the accounting team. They asked me a bunch of questions about my accounting background and past work experience. After that, I had a final panel interview with some Advisors and the Controller and CFO. All in all, it was a great experience.

I had an initial screening with an external recruiter for RPA. Following that, I interviewed with the VP of HR, and then with the rest of the HR team. It was a pleasant experience, everyone was friendly and helpful. The whole thing took about a month and a half.
