First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rock Bottom Restaurants.
Host
It's a quick couple of questions. They usually ask about your work experience or if you've worked in fast-paced jobs before. There's also a fun question thrown in sometimes. For me, it was about what kitchen appliance I'd be. It's pretty straightforward, you just need to be able to answer their questions. Typically, there are two interviews: one with a manager and then the final one with the General Manager.
- If you were a kitchen appliance, which one would you be?
Hostess
I applied online through Craftworks for this hourly hosting position. The application was really long and detailed. After submitting it, I got a call for an interview. First, I met with a floor manager. Then, I was asked to come back for another interview with the general manager. After that interview, he offered me the job. I accepted even though the pay wasn't quite what I wanted because I needed a job after being laid off.
- What makes you enjoy working in the restaurant industry?
Server
I had one interview with two different managers. It was pretty fast and they were nice and professional. They told me about the work environment and asked me about my past experience to see if I was ready.
- What is the reason for you leaving your current job?
Supervisor
It was easy and simple to work with these people. I enjoyed the process and it was very well communicated. I enjoyed the person I spoke to on the phone. I look forward to other interviews they have.
- How do you handle difficult situations?
