It was a really open and engaging process, where we talked through all the details of manufacturing dietary supplements, including dosages and how they're used. We covered soft gels, liquids, cosmetics, tablets, hard-shell capsules, powders, and gummy processing and making sure it all complied with regulations. I met with the Owner/CEO/President. The conversation was warm but very detailed. The CFO/COO joined the discussion as well.

Behavioral Other

The interview experience was terrible and gave off major red flags. They missed my scheduled interview time and then blamed me for it. Due to this screw-up, I only ended up speaking with HR and didn't get to meet any of the technical folks I was supposed to. The actual interview itself was super awkward. The HR person seemed clueless about the job description and couldn't answer my questions. They just asked standard HR questions that don't really show if someone can do the job. Honestly, the whole process felt unwelcoming. The team seems disorganized, arrogant, and passive-aggressive. The HR staff were rude to me, and I can't imagine how they treat their own employees.

I applied online and then I was contacted via email to set up a phone interview. After that, I was scheduled to meet with the recruiter onsite. That meeting was short, and she just filled out an application about my experience/availability. During that meeting, we talked about scheduling the next interview with the team and a possible date. The recruiter said she'd get back to me that day to confirm the date/time after discussing it with the hiring managers. I never got a confirmation, so I followed up by emailing and then calling in the days leading up to that potential date. When I called, the receptionist said there was a note from the recruiter that she'll be busy all day and will "pass on the message" if it's urgent. No response. A few weeks later, I received an email saying I was not selected for the position.

Got a call from HR the day after I sent my resume. HR was super nice and just asked for basic info on my experience, education, pay expectations, and current status. We scheduled an in-person interview for pretty soon after. The office was near the 405 freeway. When I got there, HR greeted me. I didn't get to see the lab, only the offices. Two managers and the HR person interviewed me for about 30 minutes. They were really friendly and asked good questions about my behavior and work history, and they clearly knew their stuff about the company. No complaints about them at all. We talked a lot about Microbiology, my research background, and what the company is aiming for. To get ready, I read up on the company's mission, products, and the job description. My plan was to connect my past work to the Microbiologist role so they'd see my interest and what I could bring to the table.
