Associate Product Manager
Online assessment, likely sent to anyone with tech experience on their resume. It had 2 leetcode hard coding questions in 60 minutes. You only pass if you get a perfect score (you'll know before submitting). If you pass that, there's a 15-30 minute recruiter call to discuss your past experience and some behavioral questions. The main thing is to highlight your tech skills and cross-functional experience, because they treat this role more like a TPM.
- Can you tell me about your experience working with different functional teams?
- Which project are you most proud of?
Product Manager
I interviewed at Robinhood for the second time, making it to the final round again. Although I was told I would get an offer the second time, they ultimately decided not to proceed. In total, I interviewed with over 14 people in one year, which seemed excessive. The interviews themselves generally went well, except for the case study. The interviewer handling the case study wasn't very helpful; when I asked clarifying questions about an open-ended prompt, they repeatedly responded with "I don't know, what do you think?", making it hard to have a productive discussion. During an interview with an engineer, I was asked more than 10 behavioral questions, way more than the expected two or three, and it left only two minutes for my questions. It's a shame because I was really keen on the role and liked the hiring manager. However, some red flags like unenthusiastic employees and a potentially intense, low-morale culture made me reconsider. Prolonged recruitment processes often reveal a company's true nature, and I'm no longer interested in working there.
- Can you tell me about the last product you launched?
- How would you approach prioritization?
- Given opportunity x, should we pursue it and what's your reasoning?
Product Manager
Easily one of the best experiences I've ever had with a company. The recruiters are extremely pleasant and on-task, professional yet personable. Some of the interviewers are less prepared than others, but overall mostly good things to say about the recruiting process. I will definitely recommend experienced Product Managers to interview with Robinhood. I will say the interview questions are relatively simple, but they gauge your performance based on the way you structure and answer your questions. But like any other interview there is an element of luck involved as well, since its just a group of folks sitting in a room deciding if you're the person for the job or not.
- What are your general product management thoughts?
- Why are you interested in Robinhood?
