First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Robinhood.
Engineering Manager
The interview process overall was pretty great. The recruiter and hiring manager were really upfront about how Robinhood operates and what the culture is like there. They clearly laid out the role expectations and the skills and experiences they were looking for.
- Tell me about your experience leading teams.
- How do you manage when you have competing priorities?
- Can you describe how you deal with teams that are not performing well?
Engineering Manager
You apply online, and if you get selected, you'll have a Recruiter Screening call. After that, if you pass, you'll get a Hiring Manager Screen. If you do well on that, you'll move to a Virtual Onsite. Finally, if you pass the onsite, you'll get an Offer.
- How have you managed disagreements?
- What's your approach when faced with several potential design choices?
- How do you handle stakeholder relationships?
Engineering Manager
Had a great interview experience, going from the recruiter call all the way through 5 rounds. Didn't get the offer though, probably because I didn't quite hit the bar on the system design and project deep dive rounds. Maybe they were looking for an individual engineer rather than a manager! I'd still definitely recommend applying, the compensation is pretty good too.
- Questions about planning, team motivation, scenarios, sprints, and conflict resolution.
- Questions regarding collaboration with TPMs.
- General questions followed by a project deep dive using slides.
