It started with a recruiter screening, then I had an online interview with several site leads, and finally, a last interview with the team lead. When I was hired, the process was really friendly, supportive, and relational.

Behavioral Technical

The interview started with a phone screening to discuss my background and work history. Then, I had a second interview with a manager where I was asked behavior questions, for which the STAR method is useful. The third interview was with a higher-level manager, and I was asked the same types of questions.

I applied online and heard back after about two weeks via email for an initial phone screen. This was a 30-45 minute chat about my resume, my knowledge of the company, why I want to work there, and my salary expectations. It went well, so the next week I had an in-person interview that lasted about 90 minutes with three people: the person I spoke to on the phone and two other senior managers. The first person just talked about the company and asked if I had questions, but didn't really interview me. He was super casual and even used some curse words. Then, the second interviewer used their phone to show me the app, testing me on its functions, order types, and ticker search. They also asked how I'd handle really angry customers who don't understand the stock market and are upset about trades executing higher than quoted or account value drops causing margin calls, especially since the app doesn't really educate users. After that, the third interviewer came in and asked more about handling client issues, even giving me two stock scenarios about whether I'd buy or sell during a market decline, which was odd for this role and company since they don't give investment advice. The interview overall felt good, but we'll see if I get an offer.
