First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights.
Summer Associate
I was interviewed by multiple staff members at a roundtable. They took turns asking me questions, mostly about human rights campaigning and my experience working with a diverse team.
- What human rights advocacy campaign would you create and how would you develop it?
Staff Attorney
Applied via the RFK website. HR set up a 45-minute phone screening, which I thought was standard before the next step. But then I was just ghosted. I followed up with HR, but they didn't even bother to reply.
- Can you share your experience with proposal writing?
- What is your approach to management?
- What's your background in human rights?
Investor Engagement Fellowship
HR director reached out 3 weeks post-application and suggested I'd be a better fit for a different role, leading to a phone interview. The call went well; she explained why she thought I was a good match and tried to 'sell' me on the position. Despite it not being my original target role, I listened and the conversation was positive. Strangely, I saw the job advertised again a couple of days later, and it remained advertised for two weeks with no further communication. Five weeks after our call, she finally got back to me to say the position had been filled. I found this whole experience quite rude.
- Why are you interested in the RFK Foundation?
- What are your relevant skills?
- Can you describe your previous experience?
Program Manager
I was in touch with HR from January to March, going through three interviews. When we were setting up the final interview, they sent an email about reference checks and said they were close to deciding on an offer. After the final interview, I didn't hear anything back, even after emailing twice over several weeks. It was confusing to go from consistent communication to complete silence, especially since the company says it has a good culture. It's disappointing not to get any response.
- What's your experience with curriculum development?
- Tell me about your education background.
- Describe your marketing experience.
