First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd.
Lawyer
Summer associate candidates will have interviews with 3-4 lawyers for about 20 minutes each. Sometimes, they might go to lunch with one or more associates. The attorneys are mainly checking for culture fit and genuine interest since only already qualified candidates get interviews.
- What draws you to securities law?
Administrative Assistant
It was quick, as one might expect. They paid attention to my profile and asked for details. They wanted me to explain my experience. They like people who are believers and individuals with ideological leanings.
- Tell me about where you were born and your musical tastes.
- What are your musical preferences?
Data Uploader
The interview process started with a pretty strict phone screening. The second interview was a bit more relaxed. The first person I talked to was from a hiring agency, and she was really nice and professional. Then, I went on-site to their office for the second interview. The interviewer mostly just went over the job duties and gave me some background information about the company.
- How do you handle taking breaks?
- Can you describe some challenges you've faced and overcome in past jobs?
- What past experiences do you have that are relevant to this Data Uploader position?
Summer Associate
I went through a standard on-campus interview. It felt really uncomfortable. Neither the partner nor the associate seemed very friendly, and they didn't ask much. There was a lot of awkward silence, and I tried to keep the conversation going. I interviewed with many other firms that seemed more engaged and interesting. Even though this firm has a great reputation, the interview experience really put me off.
- Do you have any background in working with securities?
