Product Designer
I had an initial chat with the recruiter, which was pretty laid-back. Next up was a conversation with the director of design. Honestly, it felt like they were more into the art direction side of things rather than product leadership. Their questions were focused on visuals, not so much on product thinking. They didn't ask anything about product strategy, my role in shaping the roadmap, how I work with product and engineering, or how to balance user experience with business needs.
- Could you present your Figma explorations?
Data Analyst
The people I met with were great and answered all my questions. My main issue is the process took a long time and I got zero feedback from the recruiter. The steps were: Phone screen -> Technical Interview -> Case Study + another Technical Interview + Hiring Manager Interview -> Take home assignment -> Presentation -> Meeting with the whole team. I would have at least expected some feedback after all this, but there was nothing. It would have been cool to work there, so maybe some more feedback on the recruiting process, not the interviewers themselves.
- Can you describe what A/B testing involves?
Support Manager
The interview process was pretty quick, taking just over a month. It started with an interview screen, then the hiring manager, followed by two panels – a 4-person one and then a 2-person one, totaling 8 people I interviewed with. Everything felt positive and normal. I was in the final stage, awaiting a decision. I had great interviews with everyone and was repeatedly told how much they liked me and my experience. A week after the last panel interview, I got an email from their senior hiring manager asking to chat the next morning, mentioning availability between 10 AM and 12:30 PM ET. The positive tone and scheduling suggestion felt like good signs. However, the next morning, I was called and informed I wasn't the chosen candidate. This delivery method was not ideal and felt like a bait and switch. I did provide this feedback directly to Ro, hoping they'll improve their process so others don't experience this. While not getting the job is part of interviewing, there are better ways to communicate that news, like via email. Ro, do better.
- Can you share an instance where you utilized your resources to discover information you were uncertain about?
Recruiter
The interview process was pretty straightforward but felt a bit long. I first chatted with my potential manager. Then, for the onsite round, I met with them again, plus a potential hiring manager, a peer recruiter, and another recruiting manager, with each interview lasting 30 minutes. After that, there was a final leadership round where I spoke with the Director of Talent Acquisition and the Chief People Officer for 30 minutes each. These final conversations were much more laid-back and less structured.
- Can you share an instance where you utilized data to influence stakeholders?
