Studio Manager
I did a first interview with 2 people from the team, then a second interview with the CEO. They offered me the job, but I turned it down. The CEO was late for my interview and mostly talked at me without asking any questions, which made me feel like they weren't interested in what I could do. They also suggested I might have to travel to the US, which wasn't mentioned in the job description. The office was a mess, and it was 5 days a week in the office with no flexibility. Plus, the CEO had to approve all artwork, which felt like a lack of trust and micromanagement.

Sales Coordinator
HR reached out to schedule an in-person interview at their Andover location. I met with the HR representative, the CEO, and the COO. It was a bit unexpected to have so many senior leaders involved in an initial interview, but it made sense given that they are a fast-growing company looking for people to join them long-term. They really emphasized both my soft skills and hard skills, showing their commitment to fostering a positive workplace. The interview lasted about 90 minutes, covering company culture, daily responsibilities, and how these align with my career goals. I'd suggest being upfront about your career aspirations, as there seem to be many growth opportunities here.
- What was your main reason for applying to this role?
- Could you share your career goals with us?
- Are you more comfortable starting from scratch or working within established frameworks?
Head of Operations & Logistics
So, the interview had two parts. First, I chatted with HR and my direct manager. Then, the second interview was with my manager again, and this time the CEO was there too. The first chat was all about my past jobs and experiences, using the STAR method. The second interview was more personal, focusing on what makes me tick, my motivations, and where I see my career going. I did a lot of prep work, looking into the company's history, board members, and key people, which really helped. The interviewers were upfront about everything, and the role was pretty much what I expected. The whole thing was super fast, professional, and honest.
- Can you describe a situation from your past roles, the task you faced, the action you took, and the result, using the STAR format?
- Using the STAR method, can you share examples of your knowledge, skills, and experience relevant to this role?
- Tell me about your previous roles and how they have equipped you for this position, providing specific examples.
Support Manager
I had an initial interview with the current job holder and the CFO. I was only given a day's notice for this interview because they were already in the middle of their interview process when I was put forward. The receptionist was very friendly and put me at ease, giving me some positive information about the company; she had been there for 24 years! The interview itself was in-depth, focusing on my experience and using the STAR interview technique. The second interview was with the CFO and CEO, which was more about me personally, like what makes me tick and how I like to be managed. I enjoyed the whole process and was waiting by the phone.
- Can you describe the most challenging experience you've faced in the past year and explain how you dealt with it?
