After talking to HR, the interview process moved fast. Not a whole lot was said about the job or what it entails. I had one interview where two people interviewed me.

The interview process was easy and took place at the client's location. It consisted of two main steps. First, there was a general phone interview where they described the position. Then, an in-person interview was conducted at the client's site. Overall, the interview felt cordial and relaxed.

I got an email from an old co-worker who asked me to send my resume to the recruiter. I sent it that morning around 8 am and by 9:30 am I was on a call with the recruiter. The interview went okay until I told him I wouldn't travel 100% of the time, which ended the interview, but I figured it was better than stringing them along. He had another job posting and asked me how far it was from Austin to Houston. When I said three hours, he said he would submit my info to the client and let me know what they thought. I thanked him for the interview and said I'd follow up in a couple of weeks about my job search. I think using these connections is important for networking.

They reached out to me about a contractor role, asked if I was interested, and requested my resume and details about my IT background. An interview was scheduled with the client. Following the interview, they contacted me to let me know the client was interested and sent over the necessary paperwork both by email and mail.
