First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RMF Engineering.
Intern
I had a 30-minute chat with some project managers and an intern who'd done the role before. They asked me about my resume and why I was interested in this specific role. They also followed up on my answers to see if I really got the technical parts of the job.
- What distinguishes you from other applicants?
- Could you discuss a specific item from your resume?
- Can you explain your grasp of the technical aspects pertinent to this position, referencing your resume?
Mechanical Engineer
It was a really professional process where I interviewed with the engineers on the team. There were two rounds of interviews before they made an offer. I also talked to leadership and team leads. The interviews were about average length, depending on how much I had to say.
- Why are you interested in HED?
Engineer
The interview process was straightforward. We discussed my past projects and the company's general direction. They explained the company policies and culture clearly. Finally, they gave me a tour of the office to meet the rest of the team.
- Have you worked in consulting before?
Electrical Engineer
You'll get an email or a call inviting you for an in-person interview at their office. It's pretty much all behavioral questions. If you seem like a normal person and show you're interested, you'll probably get an offer. If you know CAD or Revit, you're basically guaranteed to be hired. They'll call you in a week or two to let you know they want to hire you. Make sure not to mention programming skills, as they might think you're more into coding and not interested in this role.
- Can you tell us about your previous experience?
