First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RMA Associates.
Associate
The initial screening interview was great and super informative. I had a second round interview with another department that was also nice and informative, but it turned out not to be the best fit for what I'm good at. Then, I had another second round interview with a different department, and that one was really unprofessional. The interviewer started by asking what my current job was and then spent a weird 2-3 minutes trying to find my resume. We talked a bit about the company in general, and when I asked for more details about the actual job, they said they weren't totally sure about the exact responsibilities. Overall, I'm pretty bummed about how unprepared and unprofessional that second round interview was.

Audit Associate
RMA reached out to me and offered me an interview. I was pleased and accepted. Day of interview: I went up the chain of command beginning with a person of staff accountant title up to the managing partner. I nailed the interview and received a contingent offer pending a background check. Three weeks later I followed up on my background check since its 4-6 weeks long. I was informed I was no longer being considered. After asking why I was no longer being considered anymore I received two different reasons for not being considered anymore.
- Why are you interested in audit?
- Are you planning to take the CPA exam?
Financial Analyst
I talked with two partners and a senior manager. The questions were fine. They really went into my past work but also helped me see how it fit the job, which was cool.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- How does your experience relate to this specific role?
Staff Accountant
The interview process is pretty straightforward and quick. You'll chat with a Staff member, a Senior member, and a Senior Manager to see if you're a good fit for the firm and if the firm is a good fit for you. After an initial phone screening, an associate will reach out to schedule a phone interview. If that goes well, you'll have one-on-one interviews with several employees. Finally, if everything aligns, you'll meet with the President for a final one-on-one discussion to finalize contract terms and ensure mutual satisfaction before you start.
- Tell me about your college experiences.
- What sets you apart from the competition?
- How has your previous work experience led you to pursue this career?
