First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RKD Group.
Account Coordinator
This was the most impersonal interview process I've ever encountered. I had doubts from the one-way video interview they ask you to submit, but did it anyway since job-seekers have little agency in this competitive market we're in. That was actually my first time coming across that. They make you sit through an AI prompt interview process before you even get the chance to speak to someone. Normal process is to screen with an actual recruiter, a human being, then they decide if you're a match to speak with the hiring team. Also, the recruiter messaged me TWO MONTHS later informing me of my rejection.

Digital Account Coordinator
The interviewer was late and had a bad attitude, making the company look bad. Although she apologized for being late, it felt disrespectful. The interview started okay, discussing my skills and interest in the role. However, she then gave unsolicited career advice, questioning why I didn't pursue marketing jobs despite the role requiring marketing experience. She also asked loaded questions about the risks of leaving my previous job without another lined up, implying my part-time job wasn't a 'real' job and that I hadn't been productive, despite securing a major sales contract. This know-it-all attitude makes me question the work environment at the company.

- Can you elaborate on your duties and accomplishments in your prior positions?
- Since leaving your last role, apart from this part-time employment, what other activities have you been engaged in?
Digital Marketing Strategist
I had a really bad interview experience. It started with a 45-minute screening call with a recruiter who didn't seem to grasp anything I said, which was frustrating given the role is for a digital marketing strategist. I had to explain my digital marketing background very simply. She also asked really detailed questions about my past, like about a startup's founder, their personal details, and business success, which felt irrelevant to my skills. When I mentioned leaving a previous job because it wasn't a good fit, she pressed me on the reasons, and when I said it was due to misaligned values and culture, she accused me of not fitting into a toxic environment. She even dismissed my intern experience, where I worked 30-35 hours a week during my senior year. To top it off, she concluded by saying my resume indicated exactly what the manager was not looking for. I was really frustrated after the call. It was validating in a negative way, and I'd advise others to avoid interviewing with this company if they don't want to feel bad about themselves.

Production Manager
I was contacted by RKD's Recruiter through email and phone. After a brief screening chat, the recruiter set up a local interview for me with HR and the Hiring Manager. They also asked me to submit 3 personal references. The interviews lasted about an hour total, with 30 minutes spent with the Hiring Manager and 30 minutes with the HR Manager. A few days after the interviews, the recruiter reached out to get my consent for a background check. Then, the Hiring Manager emailed me to confirm their intention to extend an offer, and HR followed up with a separate email detailing the formal offer. The entire process was quite smooth and took about 15 working days from initial contact to receiving the offer. I think the process took a bit longer because some key employees were on PTO during that time. It was a very methodical and organized process.
