First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RJLG.
Lab Technician
The interview process was thorough but lighthearted and personable. I truly enjoyed this interview in that they didn't ask the cookie cutter questions of 'what are your strengths and weaknesses.?' There was a sit down portion with three staff members and then at the end they gave me a tour of the building.
- What area of our company would you be most interested in working in?
- Did you think our website was easy to use?
Chemist
It was a really laid-back chat. I spoke with the Laboratory Director, and they laid out what the job would involve. We also took a quick walk around the lab. The interviewer was already up to speed on my background since we'd actually worked on the same project before at the Hanford site. They went over what the lab does overall, gave a general idea of who their main clients are and in what proportions, and what I'd be diving into first.
- What brings you to R.J. Lee?
- Can you explain your motivation for seeking a role at R.J. Lee?
- What's your reason for applying to R.J. Lee?
Software Engineer
Skipped the phone interview and went straight to the on site. Interview lasted 3 hours which was mostly the interviewer telling me about what he knew instead of asking what I knew. Was asked a few basic java language questions which I did pretty well on, then was asked a few architect level questions that I did not do so well on but shouldn't have been a surprise given what was on my resume. Got the impression it was not a place I would want to work at even if extended an offer.
- Can you define Polymorphism, Encapsulation, and Inheritance?
Analyst
It was professional but relaxed, and I felt my time was valued. They didn't ask a lot of questions overall. It was nice that they skipped personal questions like why you left your last job or why you want to work here. It was direct and to the point. All the questions were about your past work related to the position.
- Can you describe your background with sample preparation?
